The nefarious Purple-Crowned Fairy hummingbird strikes again, nearly dive bombing on poor Sara. He rests on a branch waiting for the right moment to strike again.

The Next Distraction
When a sign with a butterfly points to the street that leads to a butterfly garden you have to take it. A man in pink greets us from his seat and wavers over lazily. He is relieved we speak a little Spanish, as he tells us to pay $3 if we like what we see. He drops the chain bordering the driveway and our little Suzuki Rent-a-car powers over the dirt road.
The Owl Butterfly
Our guide showing Metamorphosis
Our very sweet guide shows us around and I am in complete butterfly heaven. I wanted to listen to what the guide had to say but I just had scamper off to chase the big blue butterfly around the corner!
Pintos!
Kids, butterflies, dogs and bananas are among the things you might hit on the road as you venture to the Arenal Volcano of Costa Rica. Our "3-hour" drive from the airport led to a 7 hour journey of leisure and curiosity. What should catch the eye first, cafeteria!

It should have been us walking in on someone's house. All but a couple were inside a cozy kitchen with wooden table and bench, newspaper with thonged women on the cover, and the smell of brewing coffee. The man showed us our typical food options. Pintos, pintos, pintos!
